Could someone explain to me how any African government policies contribute to creator earnings that give them authority to tax said earnings?? I’m asking for real. T for thanks!

Sadly, governments tax industries whether or not policies are favourable. That said, *some* governments are actually doing the hard work of trying to understand and engage with the industry. Some of it just happens in boring and long meetings behind closed doors.

Thanks David. Is Nigeria one of said governments? 🥲

Yes, I’m aware that there has been a lot of deliberation. The only “but” is that I don’t know how much prominence the pro-creator voices in the room have.

So we have our work cut out for us. Okay.

Does any platform exist for creators to interact and band together? do creators even agree on what we need?

Example, I’m in a podcast/ audio creator group on WhatsApp and I feel like there’s more we could be doing with it. These are my thoughts, you don’t need to answer.

But I see you guys at Communiqué and I appreciate your work. 🙏🏾

Yes, we do. But it's also why we exist and are doing the work we're doing. IT'll take time, but we will get there.

The creator economy report was a massive first step.
