I think also the creation culture needs to be up. As in we can drive the demand for the books through movies as well. We can start by taking bets on the established boring businesses because they have fully developed stories. Then carry that forward into startup culture. An ideal case study would be a film adaptation of Femi Otedola’s “Making it big”

This is really interesting, I would definitely want to hear more stories on African startups and lessons from building them. I think these relatable stories would make a big impact, even if it’s not immediate but we will definitely see the impact in future generations who will learn from the current startup ecosystem.

This is so on point. And it's not just tech and business that need documentation. Much of Nigeria and perhaps Africa institutions are largely undocumented, they need documentation. We speak so much of the wave of afrobeats. I am afraid there is little comprehensive documentation.

Interesting conversation about getting interesting books from and about Africa. The economics of publishing are daunting and needs a reading culture. Sort of 'chicken-and-egg'. You didn't discuss local fiction publishing which might yield some more insights...

Damn. You didn’t have to drag me in public. But yeah. We’ve been talking about doing things like these at scale. And somehow they always end as talks.
