Whenever we brainstorm ideas for bringing more structure and visibility to the creative economy, one question keeps coming up: Where can we find the right opportunities?

People often ask, “Where can I find fellowships, grants, accelerators, and other opportunities I qualify for?”

It’s a simple question with a surprisingly complex answer.

Across Africa and the diaspora, thousands of new opportunities emerge each year: jobs, scholarships, grants, investment funds, incubators, training programs, and more. But information remains scattered across websites, social media accounts, WhatsApp groups, and newsletters.

We want to solve this problem.

Just as we built the Communiqué Creative Economy Database to address fragmented market intelligence, we’re now building a tool to address another pressing challenge: discoverability.

Introducing the Communiqué Opportunity Tracker

The Opportunity Tracker is our next step in building an open, reliable, and accessible information layer for the continent’s creative and media ecosystem.

It will be a public, searchable, filterable directory of opportunities, including:

• Fellowships

• Grants & funding

• Creator programs

• Jobs & internships

• Accelerators & incubators

• Scholarships

• Competitions & prizes

• Conferences & residencies

• Investment opportunities

• And more

All in one place. And the best part? It will be open source. Meaning: anyone — you, your organisation, your community — can submit an opportunity directly. We’ll review, verify, and publish it so the entire ecosystem can benefit.

Our goal is simple: Reduce the friction between African creatives and the opportunities that can change their lives.

How it will work

The tracker will:

• Live on the Communiqué website

• Include filters by type, sector, region, country, and more

• Update continuously as new opportunities emerge

• Allow the community to submit leads

• Provide verified, structured, and up-to-date information

• Integrate over time with Communiqué OS
