When we announced the Communiqué IRL Global Tour, it was driven by the belief that the future of Africa’s media and creative economy will be shaped not only on the continent, but wherever Africans are building, creating, investing, and influencing industries around the world.
In June, we took that first giant step.
Our London edition marked Communiqué IRL’s first international gathering, and it became yet another reminder of why this work matters. We welcomed founders, executives, researchers, investors, and ecosystem builders from across Africa and the diaspora for an evening of thoughtful conversations, meaningful connections, and new collaborations.
This October, Communiqué IRL heads to New York City in partnership with Syracuse University’s Center for Digital Media Entrepreneurship, Malindi Press and ChapterIP.
Together, we’re convening founders, investors, platform leaders, media executives, researchers, and policymakers to explore the evolution of the media and creator economy across Africa and the United States.
As Africa’s media and creative economy continues to mature, there has never been a more important time to strengthen connections between African and global ecosystems.
New York provides the perfect backdrop for exchanging ideas, building relationships, and exploring how creators, media companies, platforms, investors, and entrepreneurs can shape the industry’s next chapter together.
The evening will feature:
An exclusive intelligence briefing on the state of Africa’s media and creator economy.
A panel discussion exploring the future of media entrepreneurship, creator-led businesses, and cross-market collaboration.
A curated networking reception designed to spark meaningful conversations and lasting connections.
Registration is now open. If you’re based in New York—or plan to be in the city this October—we’d love you to join us.
Seats are limited, so we encourage you to register early.
